Facebook is in decline, Instagram losing users, Twitter in chaos. The value of Zuckerberg's empire has decreased by hundreds of billions of dollars, 11k people have been laid off, and his fantasy of a metaverse has been put in jeopardy.

Due to Musk's takeover of Twitter, advertisers have reduced their expenditure, and influential users have abandoned the service (or at least tweet a lot about doing so). Never before has it seemed more likely that the era of social media as we know it could be coming to an end.
